In recent years, I have become deeply disillusioned with the Irish political system. Our TDs whose job it is to represent us are simply not listening to the electorate. If they are re-elected, I have no doubt they will continue to ignore the views of the people.
I am a mother of two young women and an aunt to 23 nieces and nephews (all from Portarlington). Frankly, I am concerned for their future in Ireland.
While it is great to see young people travel and see the world, I want them to feel as though they can have a future and a home here in Ireland. With housing in such short supply, that just isn’t an option right now.
